Sara Parkinson enjoys a varied career as pianist, vocal coach and conductor. She has served on the staff and faculties of University of Colorado at Boulder, Cornell College, Rocky Ridge Music Center and Metropolitan State University of Denver. As a pianist, she has performed with the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Grande Orquesta Navarre, Extasis, Colorado Ballet Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony. As conductor, she made her operatic conducting debut with Massenet’s Cendrillon and Mozart’s Così fan tutte as Music Director for Boulder Opera’s 2017-2018 season. She will participate in the Dallas Opera Women’s Conducting Institute this fall. Sara has been a member of Central City Opera Ensemble since 2012 and coaches singers regularly. She is currently Music Director at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church in Boulder and Director of Operations for Denver’s MAS Eclectic Concerts.
