About

Abbie Gabrielson is a classical pianist and piano teacher living and working in Sonoma County. She loves performing in intimate settings, where each performance becomes an opportunity to connect with an audience, making classical music more accessible to all listeners. She is thrilled to be performing frequently as Duo West, her ongoing collaboration with friend and colleague cellist Sonja Myklebust. Abbie attended Lewis & Clark College, studying piano under Dr. Orla McDonagh. She graduated in 2010 with a B. A. in piano performance. After college, Abbie spent several years in Portland, OR and Sonoma County teaching piano lessons privately, performing solo recitals, and working as an accompanist. To further hone her musical skills, she returned to academia, pursuing a Master of Music in piano performance at the University of Maryland, studying under Dr. Mayron Tsong. Abbie completed her M. M. in December 2017.
