About
An awarded Bachelor’s and Master’s alumna of Mannes College The New School for Music, Heather Faust studied Viola with Karen Dreyfus and Daniel Panner under the Peter M. Gross & Dean’s Award Scholarships, and while attending was the Principal Violist for the Mannes Orchestra and a mentor for undergraduate chamber ensembles. A devoted soloist, principal and ensemble player, Heather has performed a variety of orchestral and chamber works in such renowned halls as Carnegie’s Stern & Weill Halls, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully & David Geffen Halls, New School’s Tishman Hall, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, and BargeMusic.
Ms Faust is currently the Principal Violist of The Garden State Philharmonic, The Livingston Symphony, and The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, and participates in The Symphony of Westchester, Manhattan Symphonie and Broadway Bach. Through continuous diverse training, she has had the opportunity to perform in master classes for The Guarneri, Orion, Colorado, Ying, Tokyo, Lark, Miami, and St. Petersburg String Quartets, collaborating with artists including Cynthia Phelps, Geraldine Walther, Arnold Steinhardt, Peter Serkin, Christophe Coin & Orlando Cole. She was recently asked to join the ICMC International Chamber Festival in Positano, Italy as part of their chamber faculty, and was a Chamber Music Ambassador on the Silk Road International Music Festival touring Northern China.
Heather is currently freelancing in the New York and New Jersey areas. She is a Viola/Violin teacher and Chamber Music Coach at The Virtuoso Suzuki Academy in Mineola NY, Viola/Violin/Piano teacher at Garden Street School of the Performing Arts in Hoboken NJ, Violist in the Symphonic Strings Residency at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak, NY and Beginning Violin Group Instructor at I.S. 364 in Spring Creek, Brooklyn, NY. She also remains an avid and sought-after page turner for New York pianists David Oei and Hélène Jeanney & the New York Philharmonic’s Ensembles concerts at Merkin Concert Hall and Bernstein Circle Donors Concerts.
