Chamber Music
About
Ensemble 180 is a group of Stanford and Harvard alumni who perform extensively as chamber and orchestral musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area, including at Bing Concert Hall and Stanford Hospital.
Ensemble musicians have made solo appearances with the National Symphony Orchestra and Mozart Society Orchestra at Harvard University, and they have served as principal of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, the Camerata Notturna in New York; the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Sapporo, Japan; the World Youth Symphony in Interlochen, Michigan; the Brown University Symphony; and the Bach and Mozart Society Orchestras of Harvard University. Currently, the members serve as concertmaster of the Stanford University Symphony and assistant principal cellist of the Berkeley Symphony.
Performances with these groups have taken the players on tours across Brazil, China, Japan, Korea, Spain, Great Britain, and the U.S. They have participated in master classes with Isaac Stern, Robert Mann, Yo-Yo Ma, Lynn Harrell, Colin Carr, and members of the Brentano, Ying, St. Lawrence, Mendelssohn, and Daedalus Quartets.
