We are a group of teenagers aged 14, 15, and 15.
We speak 7 languages in total: English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, Spanish, & Music.
We all go to public schools and are active in school music programs.

Bio

Takumi (violin) 14 , an 8th grader at Odle Middle School in Bellevue, WA, began violin studies at age 2. Takumi has been a student of Simon James of the Seattle Symphony and piano collaborator Hiro David, having previously studied with Mihoko Hirata. Takumi won the 2015 Seattle Young Artist Music Festival Concerto Competition, 2015 Simon-Fiset Competition, 2013 David Tonkonogui Memorial Award by Music of Remembrance, the 2013 Suzuki World Convention Concerto Competition, among others. His string quartet just won the Haydn Prize and the Bronze Medal at the 10th Saint Paul String Quartet Competition in Minnesota. This May, Takumi will be performing at the 2015 Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School as one of the 10 student artists. He will be returning to the Meadowmount School of Music as a scholarship recipient to study under Gerardo Ribeiro this summer. Outside of music, Takumi enjoys Shotokan karate and Japanese calligraphy.

Jay (cello) 15, a freshman at Interlake High School in Bellevue, WA, began cello studies with Dr. Kevin Krentz at age 10. He won 2014-15 Washington State solo cello, second place in the 2015 Simon-Fiset Competition, honorable mention in the Senior Strings of the 2014 MTNA State competition, third place in the concerto competition and Walton Award for cellist in the 2015 PAFE. He also performed in the Concerto Playoffs of the Seattle Young Artists Concerto Competition of 2014. In addition to solo work, he has been a member of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras since 6th grade and consistently participated in chamber ensembles. This April, his Interlake High School Möbius Quartet was selected top ten finalists in the Young Artist Awards competition of Classical King FM 98.1. When not playing music, he enjoys playing basketball and competing with the school debate team.

Bryan (piano) 15, a sophomore at Mercer Island High School in Mercer Island, WA, started formal piano education with Helen Wang, in Portland, at age 6. After two years, he began taking lessons with Willard Schultz, in Seattle. He has competed in events such as the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival, the Russian Chamber Music Competition, the Bach Festival, the Chopin Competition, and the Simon-Fiset Competition, among others. This March, Bryan performed in Carnegie Hall as part of an annual program sponsored by the Adamant School of Music. He was chosen last year as an alternate winner in the Seattle Young Artists Concerto Division, and has received Seals of Excellence for five consecutive years in the Piano Solo Division. He was invited last year to perform on the radio station Classical King FM 98.1 by the Russian Chamber Music Foundation. In addition to solo piano studies, Bryan has taken theory and conducting courses with the Academy of Music Northwest.
