About

KAIA is a Chicago-based string quartet that specializes in exploring and sharing the rich and diverse body of repertoire from Latin America. We recently completed a residency with Chicago's classical radio station, WFMT 98.7fm.

Music

We love the classics and would be sure to include pieces by composers that audiences are familiar with such as Haydn, Debussy, and Puccini. Our passion, however, is introducing audiences to the music of Latin American composers so our program would feature works by Latin composers such as Hector Villalobos, Silvestre Revueltas, or local Chicago composer Elbio Barilari. Tango has become our specialty, so we would of course throw in a few tangos to finish off the night!
