About
Duo RoMi is a New York-based flute and piano ensemble, dedicated to presenting innovative programs that combine classical repertoire with contemporary and newly commissioned works. Formed in the fall of 2008, the duo has performed at the Music in Midtown series in New York City, Princeton Sound Kitchen, CUNY New Music Festival, and for two summers as part of the Institute and Festival for Contemporary Performance in New York.
Flutist Roberta Michel and pianist Mirna Lekić met at the CUNY Graduate Center while pursuing doctoral degrees in performance, where, as a duo, they received guidance from Robert Dick and Ursula Oppens. Individually, they have performed at New York venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully and Avery Fisher Halls, Symphony Space, and Roulette, and have appeared in recitals throughout North America and Europe.
