About
We are a string quartet looking for fun venues where we can play classics! We all have advanced classical training, but enjoy other genres as well.
Brief Bios:
Candice Chin (violin) received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and economics from the University of Washington, where she studied violin with Steven Staryk. She also earned an MBA and MA from the University of Cincinnati. A Seattle native, Candice has played with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Octava Chamber Orchestra, and Seattle Modern Orchestra. She was a prizewinner in the chamber music category of the Russian Chamber Music Foundation of Seattleās 2011 Russian Piano Festival/Competition. She is a member of Philharmonia Northwest, and a student of Martin Friedmann.
Robert Redman (violin) was concertmaster of the Fort Worth Area Youth Symphony, and twice attended the summer Tanglewood Institute. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in music and a BS in computer science, and then studied in the MSci program in music engineering from the University of Miami. He is currently the associate concertmaster of the Lake Union Civic Orchestra (LUCO), and has also played with the Octava Chamber Orchestra and Northwest Mahler Festival. In his free time, he kiteboards extensively.
Ryan May (viola) has been a member of the Lake Union Civic Orchestra since 2011, and minored in viola performance at Ohio State University. During his time in Seattle, Ryan has also played with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, the Octava Chamber Orchestra, and the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently a graduate student at the University of Washington.
Terry Cook (cello) graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy and continued her studies at Northwestern University and then the College of Wooster, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in chemistry and a minor in music. After moving to Seattle for graduate work in molecular pharmacology at the University of Washington, she began playing with LUCO (where she is assistant principal cello) during its inaugural season. She has also played with the Octava Chamber Orchestra and the Seattle Rock Orchestra, and performed as a soloist with the Ravenna Strings and the Octava Chamber Orchestra.
