About
OFSQ is a woodwind quintet formed from the core members of One Found Sound, San Francisco's conductorless, collaborative, chamber orchestra. One Found Sound is on a mission to break down the barriers of the classical music stigma; to bring it back to its glory days of boisterous audiences and the thrill of discovering something new with each note. Deconstructing the typical hierarchical structure of the classic orchestra model, the artistic vision of One Found Sound is placed collaboratively in the hands of its members. Our performances invite the audience to feel the same tension and release, happiness and sorrow, struggle and triumph as those of us performing.
Acting as representatives of One Found Sound's mission, OFSQ performs in and around the Bay Area promoting the unique repertoire of the woodwind quintet. As dedicated, musical advocates we seek to spread the word about our unique brand of music making and ensure that art music remains an integral part of society.
