Potomac Winds
Woodwind Quintet
About
The Potomac Winds collective is a Washington D.C. Metro Area-based ensemble comprised of musicians from the greater D.C. metropolitan area. Members of the group have performed in orchestras across the United States with individual honors such as concerto competition finalists, debut recitals, orchestral soloists and young artist awards. The mission of Potomac Winds is to establish the woodwind quintet as a virtuosic ensemble through engaging performances of the highest level of artistic expression, cultivating a sense of community with audience members, and collaboratively exploring works of all time periods and genres with particular emphasis on the art of contemporary composers.
We are able to offer a wide variety of concerts and are happy to coordinate a concert with you. For instance, would you like to pair music with a wine or beer flight? We won’t provide the alcohol, but we can find music that is either from the same country or has a similar character. We can do concerts inspired by various times and places, including by seasons (though not completely like Vivaldi’s!). As mentioned above, we do particularly enjoy the works of modern classical composers so we always try to bring in something new, or at least a new way of listening to something old.
We can work with you to make your evening musical entertainment fit your party. But if you just want a great concert, that will always be provided.
