About

After two professional degrees in Viola Performance, Carey has chosen to focus her passion and knowledge for classical music on a career of advocacy and fundraising for the arts and music education. She is currently the Campaign Associate for The Cleveland Orchestra and continues to be an avid solo and chamber performer in the Cleveland area with groups such as Opus 216 and Classical Revolution Cleveland.

Music

I love to play chamber music with old and new friends, but I also really enjoy exploring the sounds of the solo viola. Rebecca Clarke and Kenji Bunch are two of my favorite composers but I also can't get enough of the classics - Bach, Brahms, Hindemith, Shostakovich... I regularly program improvised popular music throughout a predominantly classical program as a kind of "palate cleanser." After 23 years of being a musician, I have a lot of rep under my fingers but I'm always up for a challenge to learn something new with colleagues!
