About

Andy grew up with the robust music programs around Westchester County, NY. After an exciting few years at the University of Rochester and Eastman School of Music, he earned a B.S. in Math and Computer Science from SUNY Binghamton. Andy studied primarily with Perry Martin, Professor Mark Lusk (Penn State), and Joe Stanko (NY free-lance, M.Mus. Julliard). At Eastman he performed in the trombone choir under John Marcellus and in the jazz program under Lou Dobbins. Andy co-founded Rose City Trombones in 2011. He attended the 2017 Pokorny Seminar as a performer and the 2015 & 2017 Alessi Seminar as an auditor. He performs with Rose City Trombones, Salem Symphony, Oregon Symphonic Band, Big New Band, Portlandia Brass Quintet and free-lances. Andy has served as a director of the board for the Oregon Symphonic Band and Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. He enjoys rearranging music for trombone choir.
