About

Joseph Abad is a contemporary, classical saxophonist and educator based in the Hartford (Connecticut) area.

As a concerti soloist, Mr. Abad has enjoyed collaborating with the Connecticut Valley Chamber Orchestra, the Hamden Symphony Orchestra, the Hudson Valley Chamber Winds, The Hartt School Wind Ensemble, The Hartt Symphony Orchestra, the University of California (Davis) Symphony Orchestra, and the University of California (Davis) Wind Ensemble. As a chamber musician, Mr. Abad has had the pleasure performing in 16 states, alongside performances and recitals in Japan, Italy, and Iceland. From 2012-2016, he was the soprano saxophonist of the Hartford-based Asylum Quartet.

Mr. Abad holds music degrees from the University of California at Davis (BM) and Arizona State University (MM). In 2013, he received an Artist Diploma in Saxophone Performance from The Hartt School of Music. He is currently an Endorsed Artist of Forestone Reeds.
