Flute/piccolo

About

I graduated with a degree in music education but landed a job with the US Army Field Band where I stayed as solo piccoloist for 26 years. While in the band I was a featured soloist on several tours across the US and abroad. Since out of the band, I have been a guest artist/clinician nationwide. I am currently a member of the InSeries opera orchestra, Washington Winds recording studio band, International Flute Orchestra, Capitol City Symphony and Columbia Flute ChoirI have recorded 4 CDs of music for piccolo and piano, written several articles and compiled a book of piccolo solos and technical passages from the symphonic band repertoire.

A word about the piccolo--while much maligned for it's shrillness, there has been a wealth of accessible, delightful repertoire written for the instrument over the last few decades. The piccolo has many voices and listeners will be pleasantly surprised when they hear this repertoire. Give it a shot...
