Dallas L Neustel
Flute, Clarinet and Bassoon
About
A handful of music school survivors escape from the salt-mines of academia to free classical chamber music from the stuffy concert hall! Equally at home on the concert stage or in the elementary school lunchroom, Agermos aims to return chamber music to its natural habitat; everyday life! Despite decades of formal academic training, the maestros of Agermos have preserved their spark of curiosity and fun, tapping their "inner child" to bring a fresh twist to centuries old tradition. The musicians:
Javier Montilla, Flute;
Venezuelan flutist, teacher and arranger. Javier Montilla has been a member of the Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, National Flute Orchestra of Venezuela and the Ensemble “Pabellon sin Baranda,” among other ensembles. He has been a teacher with the world renowned “El Sistema.” His formal training includes a Bachelor of Music from Caracas (IUDEM), a Master of Music from Boulder, Colorado and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Dallas Neustel, Clarinet;
Dallas Neustel received the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Washington State University in 1994, and the Master of Music degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006. An accomplished clarinetist and teacher, Dallas has toured in concert throughout Europe and the United States in over 480 performances, and appeared as a guest-clinician in 62 master classes at Universities, Colleges, and HighSchools.
Elaine Walters, Bassoon;
Bassoonist Elaine Walters hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she studied biology at the University of New Mexico. After graduating from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, with a Master of Music degree, she attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a Doctoral student. Currently she plays and teaches in the greater Seattle area and is the Executive Director of the Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra.
