About
I hold a BA in Music at College of the Holy Cross, with a concentration in piano performance and composition, and an MM and DMA in composition from the University of Maryland, College Park. At Maryland, I was the director, and pianist for a student-run new music ensemble, TEMPO. I have premiered many new works by colleagues, as well as my own. My programs usually include a mixture of traditional classical repertoire, 20th and 21st century classical pieces, and often jazz transcriptions as well. Recent programs include chamber pieces such as the Rite of Spring (two pianos), Debussy's En Blanc Et Noir, Hindemiths' Viola Sonata, Op. 11 and Franck's Violin Sonata to name a few. Recent solo programs include "Traces of the Past" which featured Augusta Read Thomas' "Traces" and pieces by the composers she references in her work (Scarlatti, Bach, Chopin, Schumann, Crumb, Tatum and Monk), and "Seasonal Soundscapes" that included works of my own, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Ligeti, Ravel and others. I currently am on the faculty at the College of the Holy Cross, where I teach music theory and a variety of other courses.
