About

Violinist Elizabeth Wright of Bethlehem, PA grew up surrounded by music, attending her parents' orchestra rehearsals and listening to them practice and teach. Today she follows a similar path as an orchestral musician, chamber musician, and private teacher.

Liz performs with the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, Gabriel Chamber Ensemble, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, and more. She has previously held positions in the Lansing Symphony and Midland Symphony orchestras of Michigan. In addition to orchestral playing, Liz regularly presents chamber and solo recitals in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Liz received her Bachelor of Music from University of Michigan and her Masters from Manhattan School of Music. Her primary teachers were Aaron Berofsky, Andrew Jennings, Laurie Carney, and Laurie Smukler. Liz has received chamber music accolades and awards from the Kraeuter Musical Foundation, the Ruth Widder String Quartet Competition, and the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition.

Liz believes deeply in education and teaches students young and old in and around New York City. She spends summers coaching and performing at the Vermont Music and Arts Center.
