Recently graduated from the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music with a Masters Degree in Flute Performance, as well as the winner of the 2017 Myrna W. Brown Artist Competition, Drew Powell is a rising young artist of the flute.

He discovered his fondness for performing in intimate settings from performing for his family, studio recitals, and his church while growing up. His repertoire ranges from standard flute repertoire (Bach, Mozart, Debussy, etc.) to avant garde contemporary music, beatbox flute, rock, and jazz improvising, with years of experience performing it.

When he isn’t musicking, he’s probably cooking ethnic food with his wife, rock climbing, doing yoga, or reading a classic.
