Ms. Vikse's most recent performances include La Tigrana in Puccini's Edgar and Meg in Verdi's Falstaff with Opera Delaware and Baltimore Concert Opera. Previously, Ms. Vikse performed the role of Carmen with TeatrOpera Festival in Tolentino, Italy with Fiorenza Cossotto in attendance and performed selections from Samson et Dalila and duets from Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Lakme for Ms. Cossotto's 80th Birthday celebration. Ms. Vikse also contributed as the alto soloist with Narnia International Arts Festival's performances of Mozart Missa Brevis in C Major, Pergolesi Stabat Matter, and Handel's Messiah, the final performance being held at the famed Duomo di Orvieto on Italian television. Other performances include singing the Third Lady in New York Lyric Opera's performance of Die Zauberflöte at Carnegie Hall with chamber orchestra and selections from Carmen in Comfort Ye, a NY Cares Fundraising concert organized by Lauren Flanigan, with other performers including Metropolitan Opera singers Mark Delavan and Carl Tanner. Ms. Vikse has also performed with Opera Outreach including scenes from, Rigoletto, Cosi Fan Tutte, Hansel and Gretel, and Adriana Lecouvreur. Other roles include Tessa in The Gondoliers, Melissa in Princess Ida, Lady Angela in Patience, and Kate in The Pirates of Penzance, at many prestigious venues including City Center, the Mann Center, Wolf Trap and with the Buffalo Philharmonic with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players. She performed the role of Sally in Die Fledermaus with the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera. Maariana is an alumna of the Eastman School of Music and Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts.
