About

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marcio Candido is an active performer in the three Americas. He served as concertmaster of the Longy Chamber Orchestra, Boston University Symphony Orchestra, Boston Civic Symphony and the Jamaica National Orchestra. Since 2009 Mr. Candido has been a faculty member at Thayer Performing Arts Center in Lancaster, MA and more recently was appointed as violin faculty at Boston University for non-major students. In January 2016 Mr. Candido performed as soloist with the New England Repertory Orchestra.
Mr. Candido received his training with Suray Soren and at the Federal Conservatory of Rio de Janeiro with Paulo Bosisio. In the United States he studied with the distinguished pedagogue Eric Rosenblith at the Longy School of Music at Bard College earning the Master of Music degree and Performance Diploma. In addition, Mr. Candido won a special scholarship in 2011 to study with the legendary violinist Roman Totenberg. He currently studies with renowned violinist Peter Zazofsky as a Doctoral Candidate at Boston Univerisity. In April of this year Mr. Candido was inducted member of the music honor society Pi Kappa Lambda.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Felipe Garibaldi earned his Bachelor and Master of Music (Classical Guitar) from University of São Paulo, Brazil. In 2012, Mr. Garibaldi was awarded the prize of “Classical Music Interpreter” at the “20th Programa Nascente” of the University of São Paulo. At the age of ten, he started his guitar studies under tuition of Francisco Araújo and Aída Saggioro. In addition he studied with distinguished Brazilian guitarists such as Edelton Golden, Gilson Antunes and reputed guitar pedagogue Henrique Pinto.
He has made several premiere recordings of guitar works by Brazilian contemporary composers for the Cultura FM de São Paulo Radio, several recordings and arrangements on Christian Music for Sony Music label, and also national premiere performances on chamber music by cuban composer Leo Brouwer. Mr. Garibaldi has participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Leo Brouwer, David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Edelton Gloeden and Fábio Zanon. He currently works as a professor at the Adventist University Center at São Paulo (both UNASP-SP and UNASP-EC), and holds activities as arranger and guitar recitalist as well.

The two young instrumentalists recently formed the Arco-Mano duo, performing mostly in the Americas. The duo mission is to promote a blend of the classical and popular traditions, including but not limited to the music of Latin America.
