French flutist and pianist, Matthieu Clavé, is an active performer and music teacher. He is a permanent member of Chamber Cartel, music ensemble based in Atlanta, GA, whose mission is to "challenge the notion that classical music is boring, obtuse, and inaccessible," and "to propagate New and Experimental music any- and every where."

Matthieu Clavé served as principal flute with the University Symphony Orchestra at Florida State University in 2010 and 2012 and was principal flute with the American Wind Symphony during the 55th anniversary tour, where he was a featured soloist, in 2012. He has taught flute at the Landes Music Conservatory in Mont de Marsan, France, Noisy-Le-Grand Music Conservatory near Paris, the Cultural Center of Rueil Malmaison near Paris, and Florida State University, in Tallahassee.

He holds a Master’s in Music Performance from Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL and a Master’s in Music Performance and Education from the École Normale de Musique de Paris, France and an Artist Diploma from the Music Conservatory of Ville d’Avray, France.

Resident of Atlanta since 2012, where he lives with his wife, Clavé currently teaches music at the Atlanta International School and his private studio, Atlanta’s Parisian School of Music.
