About
James Reese, tenor, is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, where he studied with Kurt R. Hansen, Alan Darling, and Donald Nally. A native of Philadelphia, he currently sings with The Crossing, Chicago Bach Project, Lyric Fest Philadelphia, Choral Arts Philadelphia, The Bridge Ensemble, and Music of the Baroque. An advocate for new music, James presented the world premiere of a Joel Puckett setting of Edgar Allen Poe in November, and is a founding member of the Philadelphia vocal ensemble Variant 6. He looks forward to recording Michael Rickelton's "Time and Memory," a song cycle for tenor and piano. James has sung in masterclasses with Claron McFadden and Michael Leopold, and was recently featured at Green Lake Festival of Music in Ripon, Wisconsin. jamesreesemusic.com
