Henry Myers
Cello
About
A Saint Louis native, Henry Myers began studying the cello at the age of 7 with local cellist extraordinaire Ken Kulosa. Recently, he completed his Bachelor of Music degree at Northwestern University as a student of Hans Jørgen Jensen. Currently he is taking a gap year before heading to grad school to continue his studies. Aside from practicing, he is using this time to teach, coach chamber music, freelance, and start GroupMuse in Saint Louis.
Henry is passionate about communicating meaning in music (and art) to others by whatever means necessary. This passion compels his other artistic interests, which include cross-disciplinary performance and particularly music/arts education, both of which he hopes to explore thoroughly in his professional career (and through GroupMuse). Along these lines, Henry co-founded the music blog Two Cents Sharp with a few of his college buddies, where he authors a series called "Space Music".
When not working, Henry enjoys reading about politics, viewing Steven Universe fan art, and playing Kerbal Space Program.
