Amanda Sindel-Keswick
Mezzo-soprano
About
Described as having a voice like "warm milk" and "velvet steel," mezzo-soprano Amanda Sindel-Keswick has been in love with the stage since starring in her kindergarten production of Hats for Sale in her hometown of Bath, Maine. Since then, she has had much success performing both domestically and abroad.
She has sung Marcellina with the Tuscia Operafestival in Viterbo, Italy, Nireno and La Badessa with the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater's productions of Giulio Cesare and Suor Angelica, respectively, and covered Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia in St. John's, Newfoundland. In the Boston area, she has performed with Harvard's Lowell House Opera, Opera Brittenica, MetroWest Opera and the NEMPAC Opera Project, as well as Longwood Opera's Summer Recital Series. She is a member of Triad: Boston's Choral Collective, a new professional ensemble on the scene.
When not on the stage, Amanda teaches a popular voice class at Arlington Community Education. She is a longtime cantor at Catholic services, currently singing at a church in Roslindale, MA, where she also serves as choir director.
Amanda holds an M.M. from the Longy School of Music and a B.A. from Boston College. A student of Robert Honeysucker, she currently resides in the Boston area.
