About
A husband and wife, Shiozaki Duo has been performing together since they met at Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in 2008. Described by The New York Times as "Spellbinding," the duo has performed from prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium to less conventional venues such as Eyebeam and Dillon Gallery in NYC. Besides Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, they are both alumni of Tanglewood Music Center and current artists of Chelsea Music Festival. Their 2016 highlights include duo recitals in California, Maryland, and New York.
Alex Shiozaki is a graduate of Harvard College and a current D.M.A. candidate at the Juilliard School. Feeling equally comfortable with music new and old, he regularly performs with contemporary ensembles such as Le Train Bleu, Mimesis Ensemble, and Argento Chamber Ensemble. Nana Shi received a D.M.A. from SUNY Stony Brook in 2014 under the tutelage of Gil Kalish. She currently teaches as an adjunct professor at SUNY New Paltz and serves as a music director at Union Church of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn.
