About

With solo performances from the main stage of Carnegie Hall to EDC Las Vegas, Corin is one of the most exciting violinists of his generation. He is an acoustic, electric, and baroque violinist who incorporates technology into music to push the boundaries of how music can be shared.

He is currently a violinist in the string quartet ETHEL which is acclaimed as “unfailingly vital” (The New York Times), “brilliant,” “downtown’s reigning string quartet” (The New Yorker), and “one of the most exciting quartets around” (Strad Magazine). ETHEL invigorates the contemporary music scene with exuberance, intensity, imaginative programming, and exceptional artistry. ETHEL is currently the quartet in residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Balcony Bar.

He has performed in venues including the Merkin Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Auditorium, Barclays Center, The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and Electric Zoo. His performances have been broadcast on WQXR, TEDx, FOX, and NBC News.

Recent collaborations include working with Juilliard’s Music Technology professor and violin virtuoso Mari Kimura integrating computer programs and motion sensor technology into performances at the Atlantic Music Festival: Future Music Lab and a solo with DJ MAKO at EDC Las Vegas, Northern America’s largest dance festival. Upcoming projects include a recording with three time GRAMMY® Award winning Native American flute player Robert Mirabal in the Taos Pueblo and a touring program with Pulitzer Prize-winner Julia Wolfe and ETHEL.

As a recipient of the Alec Templeton Scholarship, Mr. Lee received the Broadus Erle Violin Prize and Masters of Music degree from Yale University with Ani Kavafian. He received his Bachelor of Music degree at The Juilliard School where he studied with Hyo Kang and Naoko Tanaka. Other teachers include Baroque specialist Robert Mealy, Cathryn Lee, Wei-He, and Dame Camilla Wicks. Mr. Lee is the founder of Liberated Performer, a program that empowers musicians to confidently walk on stage, communicate to the audience on a deep level, and perform to their full potential.
