About
Meghan Todt is a violinist who enjoys working in all musical genres. She is currently based in New York City, where she maintains an active freelance career and is on the adjunct faculty of NYU, coaching chamber music and teaching private violin lessons.
Meghan received her Master of Music Performance from NYU. While completing her degree, she performed with the NYU Symphony at Symphony Space, the Beacon Theater, and Town Hall; with the Contemporary Music Ensemble; for the Film Scoring program; and as concertmaster for Steinhardt and Tisch New Theatre productions.
Meghan is also an alumna of Princeton University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with certificates in Music Performance and Italian Language and Culture. There, she was a member of the Princeton University Orchestra and String Quartet; played violin for the Composers’ Collective, Chamber Ensemble, University Players and Senior Thesis productions; and founded Classical Music Hour. The fall of 2009, she attended the Royal College of Music, London for a semester exchange. In 2010, she was awarded the Princeton Peter B. Lewis Summer Fund for study at Killington Music Festival and a full thesis research grant allowing her to conduct research in Italy.
Meghan has performed as an orchestral fellow at the Round Top Festival Institute (2014-2015) and at the Orchestral Institute Napa Valley (2013). She has served as concertmaster for collaborative concerts at McCarter Theatre Center and has performed with a number of singers and bands, including The Eagles and Trace Adkins.
In addition to music, Meghan has nineteen years of classical ballet and contemporary dance training. She was the founding Assistant Artistic Director of the Princeton University Ballet Company, and she is currently continuing her dance training as an amateur aerialist.
Music
I collaborate with friends and colleagues to perform any and all chamber music! Works by Beethoven, Ravel, and Shostakovich are among my favorites.
As a soloist, I enjoy performing the complete Bach Sonatas and Partitas... but perhaps not all in one night!
