About

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, trombonist Tyler Castrucci is now an active performer and teacher in the Washington, D.C. area. He received his Master of Music degree from the University of Maryland and his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Tyler is currently Principal Trombone of the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic. He has also performed with the Dayton Philharmonic, McLean Orchestra, Aspen Festival Orchestra, Castleton Festival Orchestra and internationally with the Franco-American Vocal Academy Orchestra.

An avid educator, Tyler is a faculty member at the International School of Music in Bethesda, Maryland, where he maintains a private studio of over 25 students. In addition, he often presents masterclasses and leads low brass sectionals at schools throughout Maryland, Virginia and Ohio.
