About

Hello, Groupmuse! I'm ecstatic about joining this community and can't wait to help launch the Groupmuse platform in the Baltimore/DC region.

I began studying violin and piano at the age of six and continued taking lessons on both instruments through high school. From 2008 to 2012, I attended The Juilliard School for an undergraduate degree in violin. After graduating, I took a much-needed year off to switch my focus to conducting. I began studying at Peabody Conservatory in 2013 as an orchestral conducting major and graduated in 2015.

During my studies at Peabody, I co-founded the Atlas Quartet and reached the semifinal round of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. I continue to perform in professional orchestras and chamber groups as a violinist and intend on playing chamber music for the rest of my life. I continue to perform on the piano as well, most frequently in collaboration with vocalists and other instrumentalists. As a conductor, I serve as music director of the Occasional Symphony, an orchestra comprised of young professional musicians dedicated to performing live symphonic music in offbeat venues and unconventional concert formats.

The size and instrumentation of my group is 100% flexible, ranging from a single violin or piano to a piano trio, string quartet, octet, or even a full-fledged orchestra (groups larger than 5 in number will be very difficult to put together during the summer months). I have a strong preference for thematic programming, and I also like to talk to my audience for two or three minutes after the first piece.

I hope to share my passion for our art form with you at a future Groupmuse event!
