Historical context
The French "impressionist" composers opened a vast new door to new colors in the classical music field. Perhaps because of that, and the inquisitive nature of French music (such as Debussy and Satie's music), has made these music hugely popular in the film score arena. Philip Glass, although being categorized as a minimalist composer, yet also well received the film score area. Perhaps the harmony - color relationship has always opened door for story telling, and that will lead to the last part of the concert, which the original music actually told stories.
