A cheerful, nostalgic, and anticipatory mix of music well-suited to the incoming autumnal color palette. Our program will tie in Fall symbols in all facets, from fresh starts, crisp evenings, to meditations on the fiery colors brought on by the changing seasons. Highland street ensemble got our name from the street upon which we began to make music together - and marks the beginning of a collective promise to bring the best of string ensemble repertoire to all corners of the world. As the leaves begin the drop, HSE invites you to look up and out into the season that represents expectation and anticipation of a new harvest season, and reflection on past seasons- rebirth and renewal, rest and repose. HSE seeks to investigate and commemorate the symbols of fall by blending highlights from the great string quartets of American, English, and German, and French composers who managed to materialize their impressions of birdsong, chilly evenings walks with a new lover, root vegetables (!), and more.
