Cassado was a Spanish cellist, composer, and conductor known for his significant contributions to cello repertoire. As a composer, Cassadó's music is deeply rooted in the Romantic tradition while also incorporating elements of Spanish folk music and modernist techniques.
One of Cassadó's most renowned compositions is his Suite for Solo Cello
Tamar Sagiv - 'Roots'
I premiered my piece 'Roots' at my Carnegie Hall solo debut. I composed 'Roots' during my artist residency upstate NY, I wrote it in response of a program I was working on of music from the Holocaust.
