Historical context

I have two sections on my program, one is Yiddish Folk music written during the time of WWII. There are beautiful and haunting melodies written by young and older Jews. Including an 11 year old boy who won an award for the gorgeous melody of Shtiler, shtiler in the Vilna Ghetto.

My second section features songs from the American Theater repertoire. All the songs I’ve chosen are written by Jewish American composers. Many of these songs are from popular musicals and movie musicals!
