Cellist Emanuel Evans and I are a married couple and have been playing together ever since we first met in music conservatory many years ago! This program includes one of the first pieces we played together, Beethoven's A Major cello sonata, which we studied with the legendary cellist of the Guarneri String Quartet, Peter Wiley. We are thrilled to perform this joyful piece together again. We've paired it with several short romantic works for piano and an imaginative piano piece by young renowned composer and Bay Area-native, Gabriella Smith. The total length of the program is around 45 minutes.
