Around 150 years ago was born a man named G.I. Gurdjieff who transformed the world in the most profound ways. A philosopher, mystic, seeker, writer, teacher, restauranteur, composer, choreographer, he spent the first third of his life traveling the world in search of deep wisdom, and created a school based on his learnings. He was one of the very first figures to create a compelling and potent synthesis of Eastern and Western spiritual practices, and his influence can hardly be overstated.
He created hundreds and hundreds of beautiful pieces of music - which weaved together the different cultural and spiritual influences that made him who he was, and all of it is deeply imbued with his wish to transcend and to support others doing the same.
We’re so grateful to declare that two incredible guitarists - Bert Lams and Fabio Mittino - have created arrangements of some of these sacred works and are coming through our neighborhood to share them.
This is music to be swept away in, music that creates a space that can support us touching in to our inner stillness.
We’ll gather in Claymont’s glorious mansion to share in its glow and we hope you’ll join!
