    No matter your practice, your faith, your background, it’s hard to deny that there something sacred about the holidays in New York City. The bustle, the bells, the joy, the reds, whites, and greens — commercialized though it may be, it’s perhaps the core American ritual, and it holds so many of us in a season of comfort and connection.

    For those that practice and for those that don’t, we have a very special Holiday Night Out to imbue this season with depth, beauty, and a connection to our ancient past: ARTEK is inviting us to their performance of Claudio Monteverdi’s Mass For the Virgin, alongside other beloved early gems.

    ARTEK is one of the great early music groups in the city, and Monteverdi is one of the only masters of Western Classical music whose music has only grown more important and beloved 400 years after it was written.

    16 instrumentalists, 16 singers, all gathered in the stunning St Mary the Virgin Church right in Times Square, to share with us some sacred musical wisdom that is four centuries in the making.
