The groupmuse will take place in the common across the street from the Starbucks at 66 Beacon St. There will be a make Make Music Boston banner so you'll know where to go.
Inspired by France's annual Fête de la Musique, the first-ever Make Music Boston links Boston to more than 720 cities across the globe, each one celebrating the summer solstice with its own feast of music and sound.
Led by Kādence Arts and August Noise JP, the Make Music Boston team is taking the grass-roots approach - aiming to empower all musicians to perform for the masses in public locations. All genres, levels, and styles are welcome, from singer/songwriters, to string quartets, to improvisatory soloists, to like instrument jam sessions, to large ensemble set-ups and indie bands. All performances will be free, to be enjoyed by any passersby.
The City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department is supporting Make Music Boston by opening up park locations around the city for musicians to use. Mayor Martin J. Walsh has extended the City of Boston's invitation to musicians and audience members alike:
"I invite all residents and visitors of the City of Boston to 'Make Music' on June 21st in celebration of the Summer Solstice. Throughout many of our parks and public spaces, musicians will share their music in free performances for the enjoyment of all." - Mayor Martin J. Walsh
