Host
For my July 16th Groupmuse, I'm welcoming Montreal pianist Michael Arnowitt to Toronto.
Michael will be doing a special talk-performance on the music of Aaron Copeland ,one of the most important American Composers of the 20th Century.
What's the music?
- the lively 'El Salon Mexico', which gives a vivid portrait of a dance hall in Mexico City
- 'Conversation at the Soda Fountain', a scene from the music he wrote for the film version of Thornton Wilder's 'Our Town'
- the ballet music for 'Appalachian Spring'
- and more
