Host
Hello! My name is Robert and I am excited to be hosting my first Groupmuse! This will be my first time hosting AND playing, but I am a seasoned Groupmuse musician. Come join me and my roommate and co-host Matthew in Edgewater for an evening of solo works for Viola:
J.S. Bach - Suite for Solo Viola in C major
P. Hindemith - Solo Sonata for Viola, Op. 25 No. 1
Solo viola? Is that a thing? What even is a viola? Can you even play enough notes by yourself to make a song? Well between the dancing, intricate melodies of Bach and the rock-and-roll power chords of Hindemith there certainly is a lot to explore and experience together. Come discover the rare soundscape we don't usually get to hear in the string world that is solo viola.
There is seating for about 12 people, but floor space for around another 10-12 so cushions or mats are encouraged for the hardwood floors. The evening is BYOB, but audience members of all ages are welcome (even though the event confirmation is 21+).
What's the music?
J.S. Bach - Suite No. 3 in C Major for Solo Viola
Paul Hindemith - Sonata Op. 25 No. 1 for Solo Viola
