In honoring Juneteenth, a long forgotten commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, Malang Jobarteh will be performing selections of traditional West African and Western classical music on the Kora - a lute string harp played extensively by story tellers in West Africa. Malang was was born into a family of traditional Gambian musician/historians that extends back nearly 1,000 years. There will be some Senegalese food and non alcoholic drinks but feel free to BYOB!
