Join composer Nick DiBerardino and cellist Zachary Mowitz for a workshop series exploring the cello's journey through time and the many ways its history can illuminate our hearing of music, past and present. The series culminates in a recital on June 16, featuring Nick’s work “Oracle” alongside a new piece by Ira Mowitz and staples from the solo cello repertoire. Listeners will discover how this new music connects to the rich legacy of the cello's past, emerging with a deeper experience of the music.
In this interactive concert, Zach and Nick will focus on how dance influenced Bach. They will discuss Bach’s dance suites in detail, how the form evolved through time, and how dance forms influenced Nick’s new work “Oracle.”
