I’m excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a Groupmuse featuring koto player Masayo Ishigure - www.masayoishigure.com and pianist Mayumi Tsuchida - www.mayumitsuchida.com. Listen to a live koto and classical piano performance. Socialize with new friends on a high floor overlooking the East River with views of the Chrysler, MetLife, Bloomberg, One 57, Trump building, etc. and Pepsi Cola sign. BYOB wine and light food served. I have hosted a few private piano cocktail party events in the past, and this is my 5th time hosting a Groupmuse event.
Masayo Ishigure was a recording artist alongside Yitzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, and others on the Grammy Award-Winning soundtrack from the movie “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Here's two songs from the movie soundtrack...
1. Memoirs of a Geisha - Sayuri's Theme (3.6M views):

2. Memoirs of a Geisha - Becoming a Geisha (3.2M views):

Mayumi Tsuchida has appeared in some of the most notable concert halls in the world including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Steinway Hall, Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Vienna Konzerthaus, Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall, Slovak Radio Concert Hall and Berlin Konzerthaus.
Schedule:
7:00 - 8:00 PM: Meet and greet
8:00 - 8:20 PM: Mayumi Tsuchida plays classical piano
8:20 - 8:35 PM: Intermission
8:35 - 9:00 PM: Masayo Ishigure plays koto
9:00 - 9:30 PM: Mingle
FYI: The koto is a Japanese stringed musical instrument derived from the Chinese zheng, and similar to the Mongolian yatga, the Korean gayageum, and the Vietnamese đàn tranh. The koto is the national instrument of Japan.
NOTE: The piano is a Yamaha DGX-640 Portable Grand Piano keyboard with 3-pedal unit which is hooked up to 7 speakers and 2 subwoofers producing an amazing awe inspiring deep & rich sound in "grand piano" mode. :)
