NOTE This was initially outdoors but will now be inside because weather is NOT going to permit. Still excited for what’s going to be an awesome event!!!
It's starting to get a little warmer so let's celebrate the beginning of spring with a Groupmuse! We will be hearing from guitarist John Warren and Brazilian percussionist Alejandro Lucini!
There will be snacks to share; please feel free to bring something as well. Doors will open at 7:30 and music will start at 8:00 PM. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions for me. I look forward to seeing you!
What's the music?
Sensational Brazilian percussionist Alejandro Lucini will be joining guitarist John W. Warren for this special concert. They will perform several pieces from Brazil and Latin America, including music by celebrated Brazilian composers Tom Jobim, Luis Bonfá, Baden Powell, and Heitor Villa-Lobos; the Paraguayan master Agustín Barrios Mangoré; the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer; and Argentine composer Eduardo Falú.
We will also perform some of Warren's original compositions as well as a few arrangements of popular songs on classical guitar.
Journey to Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, and other Latin American countries and explore the diversity of the region's rich guitar tradition. This collaboration of classical guitar music with Brazilian percussion is not to be missed.
