Hi friends and neighbors! We are hosting another Groupmuse chamber music event on Sunday, February 24 starting at 5:00 PM, and we'd love for you to join us. This will be the next in a series we are calling Project Tutti: Strings Make a Friend -- and the friend this time is a piano. Eunghee Cho on cello will join us again, along with several of his colleagues. They will be playing one of my (Viki's) ultimate favorite pieces, the Faure Piano Quartet in C Minor. Hope you can join us!
What's the music?
The Program:
Françaix - String Trio (one of classical music's most charming creations; in describing his own music, the composer uses this Molière quote: "It is a strange venture to make honest folk laugh")
Fauré - Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor (a masterpiece of the French repertory, the passion and turmoil of this lush work illustrates a wholly contrasting second half for the night's program)
The Cast:
Geneva Lewis, violin
Tanner Menees, viola
Eunghee Cho, cello
Jayoung Kim , piano
