Haskell's notes on the music:
The Mozart is one of my favorites, full of vivaciousness and humor, and is unusual in taking on a concerto format, the last movement featuring a written out cadenza.
My "Mystic Child" is inspired by a priest's statement that a monastic life "symbolizes and realizes a journey into childhood, each day a step closer to the end, already present in us because it is also the origin: eternal childhood."
And the Chopin, with its uniquely beautiful melody and ferociously exciting virtuosity, is of course one of the great romantic masterpieces.
