At this groupmuse you're in for quite a treat with the sweet sounds of Brian Swager, solo harper. Brian began his music journey as an organist and eventually took up the carillon as well. One day he woke up, and it dawned on him that he would never have his own huge pipe organ or carillon at home, so he bought a concert grand pedal harp. He most enjoys playing the classic French harp repertoire and figures that each pluck of a string brings him one step closer to heaven.

Brian teaches private music lessons (harp, organ, and piano). He holds the Doctor of Music degree in Organ Performance from Indiana University, performs organ recitals, and is Director of Music at Immanuel Lutheran Church in San Jose. Find him online at harpbrian.com and allegrofuoco.com

You may have been to other groupmuses i’ve been part of hosting - and in similar style I will be cooking you some apps to eat prior to the music getting underway - I just haven't decided what.

For the pre-event, feel free (but not obligated!) to bring something to share if you are so inclined. BYOB, and BRING YOUR OWN CUP. Dress casual. Please bring at least a $10 cash money donation for the musician, or you can donate through the app!

Rough Schedule:
6:00 to 7:00 - Eat and Mingle
7:00 to 7:25 - Introduction / Set 1
7:25 to 7:40 - Intermission
7:40 to 8:05 - Set 2
8:05 to 8:15 - Q&A

GETTING IN THE BUILDING
Doorbell (was) a white button on the inside of the door frame. We accidentally spray painted over it so it blends into the mural...Ring twice in case we don't hear you! Finally, please don't show up late and ring the doorbell during the performance.

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING
There's usually plenty of street parking (metered, ends after 6 I believe but you should double check) out front and there's some street parking around the block. You shouldn't be driving though because you'll probably be drinking, right? Closest BART is 16th and Mission.
