This will be memorable.
I’ve heard David perform, his interpretation is exquisite and delicious. Visiting from Paris, David will only be performing a few concerts in the USA this time around. One of them this evening. Schumann Carnaval, Brahms Waltzes and Hungarian Dances (”Hollywood Hungarian”, as he sagely notes, since they’re really more inspired by the Gypsies living in Hungary).
Final dilemma: Ginastera Argentine Dances, dramatic and lyrical with some fresh voicings and harmonies (and an excuse and invitation to bring some delicious reds from Argentina ;), or Gershwin’s divine Rhapsody In Blue. He is making us choose. Not fair. I’ll see if I can convince him to play both, but if that’s not possible, leave a comment with your preference, if you’re attending.
This will be memorable. And then some.
