Welcome! A casual evening of music and songs with new friends in a humble Ballard apartment. We had such a great time hosting Groupmuse the first time and would love to share the experience with more people. (chairs limited)
What's the music?
I would like to share a program celebrating the majesty fo the Baroque with one of the greatest composers of the Baroque, Johann Sebastian Bach's collaboration with the greatest lutenist of the Baroque Sylvius Leopold Weiss. There is delightful guitar music from the Baroque that has a very contemporary sound to it. I segue from the 1670's to the early 2000's with a paring of two pieces, one by Frensch baroque composer F Corbetta and the other by contemporary instrumentals from California Andrew York. This is music that offers a nice glimpse of light in the winter months. I follow this with some of the Spanish masters from Catalonia, Spain. I spent this fall touring Catalonia and picking up some music in the old books stores in small medieval villages and this will be the first chance to share my finds Thank you for your time sincerely Mark Wilson
