Host

Baritone Ryan Bede and pianist Beth Tankersley present a program of art songs for the winter season, including excerpts from Schubert's epic song cycle "Winterreise".

Born and raised in Tacoma, WA, baritone Ryan Bede's recent engagements include solo roles with Seattle Opera, Opera Idaho, and Tacoma Opera. He has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras in the Pacific Northwest, and teaches voice at the University Of Puget Sound and Tacoma Community College. Operamuse fans will remember him as Count Almaviva in "Figaro!"

Oklahoma native Beth Grimmett-Tankersley is a collaborative musician, performer, and educator. Beth holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Music degree in collaborative piano from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Ample street parking is available. Metro #5 or #44. Our house is high off the street and it's thirty steps to the front door. Attendees will be asked to make a donation (minimum $10) all of which goes to the musicians. Please bring any drinks and snacks you'd like to share.

Note: Please do not arrive early unless you have a special need and have communicated with me. Both hosts and musicians require preparation and set up time. The start time (7:30) means that is the time you should arrive, and you can expect the program will start slightly later. Thanks for your consideration.
