Host
Classical guitarists Michael Partington and Jesse McCann in recital. Details of program to follow, but the evening will include the premiere of new works by Bryan Johanson.
Michael Partington is one of the most engaging of the new generation of concert players. Praised by Classical Guitar Magazine for his "lyricism, intensity and clear technical command," this award-winning British guitarist has performed internationally as a soloist and with ensemble to unanimous critical praise. He is director of the Guitar Program at the University of Washington.
Jesse McCann is the director of guitar studies at Portland State University and the owner of The Tactical Guitarist. He has recorded and toured in various bands, classical groups and as a soloist. He has won a number of awards for his playing and currently performs with the Oregon Guitar Quartet.
Ample street parking is available. Metro #5 or #44. Our house is high off the street and it's thirty steps to the front door. Attendees will be asked to make a donation (minimum $10) all of which goes to the musicians. Please bring any drinks and snacks you'd like to share.
Note: Please do not arrive early unless you have a special need and have communicated with me. Both hosts and musicians require preparation and set up time. The start time (7:30) means that is the time you should arrive, and you can expect the program will start slightly later. Thanks for your consideration.
